FDA To Discuss AI Regulation

The FDA just took a big step toward regulating therapy chatbots and generative AI tools, especially those being used for mental health and patient support.

This is a significant move.

In recent studies, AI chatbots gave clinically inappropriate advice in nearly 1 out of every 10 simulated patient scenarios, sometimes offering reassurance when urgent care was needed.

When AI starts advising without clinical oversight, it can create what experts are calling “delusional spirals” or false reassurance, bad recommendations, or missed red flags.

At Vironix Health, we believe technology should amplify human care, not replace it. Our AI works with our medical assistants and nurses who interpret the data, step in when something looks off, and keep every decision rooted in empathy and expertise.

Here’s how we build that safety net: 💙 Every AI insight is reviewed and validated by a licensed professional 💙 We train staff to recognize when AI may be wrong 💙 Human judgment always comes before automated output

AI can help us see patterns faster and support more patients, but it should never be left unsupervised, and we’re making sure innovation never comes at the cost of human connection.
